Copper

Copper is separated into 3 different grades. Copper one, two and three.

 

  • Copper one: must be 100% clean (light copper rust is okay)
  • Copper two: Has welds, paint, nickel coating, grease. 
  • Copper three: 50% copper & 50% brass (by weight)

Shiny copper

Shiny Copper is copper wire that has been stripped.

 

Please note: This doesn’t include stripped copper wire that has been burnt. 

Aluminum

Aluminum comes in 3 different types. Extruded, domestic. & cast aluminum.

 

  • Extruded aluminum: 100% clean, includes aluminum windows, doors & similar products to these. 
  • Domestic Aluminum: includes pots & pans, aluminum checker plate, and anything other than doors and windows. Slightly unclean windows and doors would be considered domestic aluminum.  
  • Cast aluminum: 100% clean, is any aluminum that has been made through the casting process

Wire

Wire is separated into a couple types. High grade wire, Low grade wire and low low grade wire.

  • High grade wire: copper wire which only has 1 single plastic cover.
  • Low grade wire: copper wire covered with 2 layers of plastic, mostly found in wires attached to most appliances & white wire which is run throughout the house for electrical work. 
  • Low low wire: low grade wire with plugs and attachments.

electric motor

Electric motors are motors that have come out appliances such as fans or industrial machines which are operated by motors. 

Brass

Brass is separated into two different grades, clean brass and dirty brass.

  • Clean brass: must be 100%, includes taps, showerheads, other plumbing appliances, locks, door handles, etc..  
  • Dirty brass: brass that has a small amount of plastic or steel attached

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel can be found kitchen/laundry sinks, benches, kitchen appliances, railings, etc…

Heavy Steel

Thick steel such as beams & rails. 

Car/Truck/forklift/boat batteries

Aluminum car rims

We buy both the rim on its own & even if it has a Tyre attached,

Black Compressor

Found in fridges & Air conditioner systems.

 

Please DO NOT REMOVE the compressors yourselves if you are not legally qualified, the gases released when the compressor is removed CAN CAUSE CANCER! and is ILLEGAL to do so if not legally qualified. 

Light/thin Steel

Thin steel sheets such as steel, car panels. Dirty Heavy steel would also come under this category.
